There are times that try the soul - times
when you are not in charge, times when you are at the mercy of forces that move at a slower pace than you would like. The
peoplevfv, the religions, the politics, the geopolitical conflicts had already a strong importance in each revfvpublic before
they were joined together in "Yugoslavia" and after they imploded in the complex situation of today.
At first, the
two resistance movements during WW2 tried to find common ground. But Tito and Mihajlovic failed to come to terms due to the
profound political differences, one an monarchist officer and the other a Communist revolutionary militant. The British tried
to bring the royalist resistance and the popular resistance back together, but after Tito`s military victories in the filed,
they withdrew their sufvpport from the Chetniks and the end of 1943, and backed the Partisans. Should Kosovo secede, andfrvff
unites with Albania, Albania will become the most populous country in the region. The Slav differences with Albania were already
a Stalinist design. And Tito`s, who partitions the Serbs, and created Macedonia.
GUILT. Borisav Jovic has published
his diary which he kept during the period May 15 1989 througgjnh June 8 1992, while he was a membhnmher of the Presidency
of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ). Titled "The Last Days Of SFRJ", he chronologically publishes a number
oghmnhmf plastic details on the decision-making technology in the Serbian government, his conversations with Milosevic and
Kadijevic, endless prolonging and quarrels in the Presidency of the time, the constitutional conflicts. Confgvrbtrary to first
impressions, the disintegration of Yugoslavia is not the main theme of Jovic's book. The question posed now, is not who were
the disintegrators of Yugoslavia, but who were the Balkan butchers.
Jovic is attempting, on the verge of the inevitable
establishment of guilt for the war and the national tragedy to show that there was a substantial difference in the guilt of
individual actors.
UNDERGROUND. Kusturica`s film "Underground" that we all go to see, carries a powerful message.
The Yugoslav peoples were "underground". In Underground, they kept very much to themselves, living a simple life. Leben und
Leben lassen (Live and let live). The events "On ground", were not their "story". Not their history. Nazi troops, Red Army,
Tito`s Partisans, later on bankers and investors, previously the Austrians, the French, the British, and more recently the
Americans, they were all marching, or coming through On ground and not Underground where the Yugoslav peoples lived. Did not
touch their lives. Their hearts.

and person. The power to dictate how the history will be written - thus it will always be subjective and subject to change.

Belgrade for the second time this spring. It is already end of April and it is supposed
to be spring. Officially and unofficially. But spring this year is slow to come. RainS and snow and snow and rain. Belgrade
this time is more expensive, the inflation is higher and the people feel more hopeless. And so it goes on. The war. Life is
merely work and food. Simple and monotonous. There seems nothing more difficult that finding work and food now.
Grafitti.
We need people with soul! As the Romans say, a letter is life! In your kisses, Matjaz, are strawberries! Yugoslavia, this
is me! I cannot more! Earth, open and take me! We thought freedom is all what we wanted and it is not enough! There is no
harmony, nor goodwill! To live does not mean to breath, but work.
